Galaxy Games Festival is a student focused event for emerging game developers within Australia.

We have students and industry guests coming in for talks and showcases, from the games, art, music, and adjacent industries. Come and check out what it's like to work in the industry, and see what students have been making!

Who is it for?

Students, emerging developers, game studios, and anyone passionate about game development and digital creativity.

Where is it held?

At Macquarie University — a leader in games education and a central hub for Sydney’s game dev community.

Why should I attend?

To see other fellow students' work, learn from industry pros, network with studios, and be inspired by the future of Australian games.

Is it only for students?

Nope! While students are a big part of the community, the festival is open to developers at all stages, including seasoned professionals and studios.

Events

• Two concurrent industry talks streams in separate theatres

• Live demos: 2D, 3D, and music creation

• Student society & sponsor tabling

• Game, art, and music students showcasing work

Our Sponsors and Partners

This event is sponsored by MSI and Notion. We also have other partners that donated to our event, thank you Faculty of Computing at Macquarie University, RedBull and Dalmar Body Repairs. We were able to have funding for catering and other event related expenses thanks to our sponsors. MSI was also able to lend us some laptops for any students that need one on the day to showcase their projects.
